Setting Submission Limit for a Challenge
Organizers can set a maximum number of submissions that a contestant can make to a challenge. This is especially useful for simple challenges where contestants can bruteforce flags.
To set a submission limit to a challenge, do as follows -
- Go to the editor of the challenge for which you have to set the limit.
- Go to the
Settings
tab, and you will find the Control Centre section. - In the Control Centre section, set the desired limit you wish in the
Maximum Submissions
setting (or leave it blank if you do not want to set a limit). - Hit the Save button to apply the changes.
You may also set a submission limit to the challenge while creating it through the challenge creator UI as well. Please note that this limit is applied across all correct and incorrect submissions. Therefore, if you set the limit to less than the number of flags for the challenge, a participant will only be able to submit some, but not all, of the flags.
Organizers may also choose to set a global submissions limit per challenge, which will be used in case a challenge limit is not set. When a limit is set for a challenge, it shall take precedence over the global limit set. If there is, however, no global as well as challenge-level submission limit set, then the participant will be able to attempt the challenge any number of times.
